Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

So yeah, last week’s “Whatcha Been Playin’?” was a little deep and I really appreciate the kind comments I received in return. The simple fact of the matter is that it’s important to me that y’all know you’re important. I don’t dally about and I certainly don’t bullshit anybody. Sometimes you just gotta let people know they matter. Life’s too short – and currently far too unpredictable – so be sure to pass it on and let those that you care about know that they matter.

I’ve been really busy this week, which has put paid to a lot of my gaming opportunities. I’ve spent most evenings squeezing in sessions on Easy Trigger Games’ Huntdown, which remains a solid contender for my favourite game of 2020. I’m currently trying to 100% the game on Hard, which is understandably a pretty wild ride. But with that soundtrack, those visuals, and a cameo appearance from Snake Plisskin, it’s easy to keep walking the mean streets. If you haven’t checked it out yet, don’t sleep on it.

You know the score by now, we’re just as interested in hearing what you’ve been playing lately. So whether you’re rocking recent releases such as Ghost of Tsushima, PGA Tour 2K21, or Battletoads, or whether you’re just jamming away at your backlog or replaying an old favourite, jump into the comments and share your gaming escapades with us.

Have a safe and pleasant weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.

Reveal Your Shield Week, Day 2 – The Stop-Motion Cast Of Transformers: The Last Knight Attends A Screening

The official Transformers Facebook page has updated once again with a new video to promote the Transformers: The Last Knight toyline! Today, the robot cast of the film (as represented by stop-motion animated Premier Edition action figures!) attends a screening! Optimus Prime has the bad luck of being seated next to the extremely noisy Barricade – but since this is an all-ages video, Barricade gets off fairly easy in the end. Keep reading to see!

Curious about what’s the Japanese are actually buying and how they lineup with your own collecting habit? Toynes.jp has you covered with a weekly and monthly sales round up. Last week was a good week for robot fans as four big names found themselves on the list.

ThreeA’s Megatron emerges from a slumber next week

Another ThreeA figure hits the Bambaland store next week: the grand Deception leader, Megatron arrives for pre-orders. Not the awesome 1980s Megatron or the best Megatron, but the bulky Michael Bay Transformers film version. I’m not a huge fan of the Bay-era designs, but at least ThreeA’s figure will have all the details (and articulation) for fans who really want him.

Pre-orders begin Friday, Jan. 30, at 9 a.m. Hong Kong Time (8 p.m. Eastern Thursday, Jan. 29) on the Bambaland store. A price wasn’t listed on the World of ThreeA production blog, but if we find one out, we’ll let you know ahead of time.

ThreeZero’s modern RoboCop on sale next week

ThreeZero’s RoboCop v1.0 is almost online … literally. Pre-orders for Robo start Thursday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. Hong King time (9 p.m. Oct. 29 Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific, 1 a.m. Oct. 30 UTC), and he’ll be priced at US$230. The ThreeZero shop’s version will include a helmetless version of RoboCop’s head as an alternate part, but both the ThreeZero shop and retail versions come with extra hands and his weaponry (which can be stored in holsters inside RoboCop’s thighs).

You can also pre-order EM-208 from the ThreeZero shop right now for US$190. I’m not particularly a fan of the RoboCop remake, but it at least looks like those who are will have a good figure or two to add to their collections.

DST’s really big Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Vinyl Bank and Godzilla Vinyl Bank on sale this week

See how tiny a banana looks in DST’s over-sized Stay Puft Marshmallow Man‘s hand! The 24-inch vinyl bank begins shipping this week alongside the slightly smaller 12-inch Godzilla vinyl bank.

The Stay Puft vinyl bank (vinyl? C’mon, it’s clearly made of AWESOME!) dwarfs DST’s previously released 12-inch Stay Puft Marshmallow Vinyl Bank and, at 24-inches, will likely tower over everything else you own. EVERYTHING!

While listed as a mere vinyl bank, the new Stay Puft is large enough to be a vault and should be big enough to handle years of accumulated loose change. Unfortunately we don’t have an image of him next to the 12-inch Godzilla Vinyl Bank (which purportedly is 18-inches if you count from the head to the tip of his tail), but hopefully Diamond Select Toys will come through with that awesome comparison shot.
