Maschinen Krieger (Ma.K ZBV3000) is a science fiction universe created by Japanese artist and sculptor Kow Yokoyama in the 1980s.
The franchise originally began as the science fiction series SF3D which ran as monthly installments in the Japanese hobby magazine Hobby Japan from 1982 to 1985. To develop the storyline, Kow Yokoyama collaborated with Hiroshi Ichimura as story editor and Kunitaka Imai as graphic designer. The three creators drew visual inspiration from their combined interest in World War I and World War II armor and aircraft, the American space program and films such as Star Wars, Blade Runner and The Road Warrior. Inspired by the ILM model builders who worked on Star Wars, Yokoyama built the original models from numerous kits including armor, aircraft, and automobiles. He mostly concentrated on powered armor suits, but later included bipedal walking tanks and aircraft with anti-gravity systems.

Thanks to Kevin Liu we now have a very good look at Leader class Rodimus Prime, capping off the first wave of Power of The Primes. Kevin’s video is of course in Chinese, but presented clearly enough to tell what’s going on anyway. Most interestingly, we get side by sides with Titans Return Hot Rod, which shows the Hot Rod form of this toy to actually be a fair bit bigger. As Titans Return Hot Rod was already a bit big for a Deluxe, you can imagine the new one is surely pushing the boundaries of being comparable with Deluxes! The video as well as plenty of screencaps can all be found below – keep reading to see it all!
Topspin is the standout of this wave. Fantastic design ideas and aesthetic choices, with really excellent transformation engineering make this toy shine on all counts. The only issues present are relatively small, and seem to be a result of the materials not quite playing right with the design. I could easily see later uses of the mold being effectively perfect! You can find our video review, with accompanying text and photos right now on the Titans Return Topspin review page, so go give it a look right now!

Funko has been pretty much killing it with their releases recently, and this Despicable Me wave is no different: we’ve got two Minion Funko Pop! Figures coming out this month, and a set of Mystery Minis in November. Pretty much all of them are a must-buy, and I especially love how damn adorable Gru looks. Pictures below!
I just wonder, though… why are El Macho and the mutant Minion in the set, meaning we’re seeing crossover between DM 1 and 2, but not Lucy? Why not, yanno, chuck the Unicorn doll and add one of the main characters to the set instead?
Maybe there’s a second series coming, and we’ll see Gru dressed as a fairy princess, and other similarly awesome ideas for Mystery Minis I’ve got. Funko, you can call me up anytime.

BBTS has changed their solicitation for Generations Wave 3, citing a cancellation of the Wave as originally solicited. Rattrap and Beast Machines Tankor (AKA “Fat Tankor”) are still on the way but Crosscut, the ex-senator introduced in IDW’s Dark Cybertron, is delayed. For full information and a quote from BBTS about the situation, read on.
