Over on Instagram, Pop Culture Shock has shared a photo showing a prototype stage of a G1 Starscream statue they’re working on. While still decidedly a work in progress and missing some elements they note are not ready yet pending the hand sculpting process, the basic form of Starscream looks like it’s good to go in this early print. We’ve mirrored the photo for your convenience, which you can check out below.

This limited edition figure depicts the first costume ever produced for Boba Fett. The all-white armor reflects the character’s initial concept as a “super trooper” before he evolved into the bounty hunter he is today. This prototype design was unveiled on June 28, 1978 in a screen test shot and is being worn by the assistant film editor for The Empire Strikes Back. In the 20-minute screen test, the sound designer describes the myriad weapons and features on this armored uniform for George Lucas and the Star Wars crew. For the first time ever, we have created this special action figure to commemorate the birth of this favorite character from the Star Wars saga. Re-enact your favorite Star Wars adventures or create brand-new ones with this Vintage Collection BOBA FETT (Prototype Armor) figure! Your figure will be awesome in battle, but your collection will be all the cooler because this version of BOBA FETT wasn’t in the original movie! Satisfy your adventure craving and your collector’s eye with this unusual figure!

As I’ve noted several times before, I’m a huge Cardcaptor Sakura fan and the series’s recent return to the front lines of the anime toy world has filled me with unmitigated glee. We’ve known for a while now that Max Factory would be producing a figma version of heroine Sakura Kinomoto, but a new post on the official company blog gives us a first chance to get a good look at her.
Still in unpainted prototype form, Sakura is nonetheless already looking extremely sharp. Like her Nendoroid and trading figure counterparts, she’s portrayed in probably the most iconic of her many outfits, an ultra frilly pink number from the first opening. It’s pretty challenging to reproduce in small scale, but Max Factory look to have done a fine job, and they promise an innovative new bit of design will make sure she retains maximum posability despite all those ruffles. There’s also a glimpse of the included accessories, which seem to pretty much match the Nendoroid. We get miniature Kero and Sakura’s sealing wand in both regular and ‘Fly’ broomstick-style forms.
I can’t lie, I’m very excited. I swore off of figmas quite a while ago, but I doubt I’ll be able to resist this one. Here’s hoping we get more details, and some coloured shots, very soon.
