Pre-order Sideshow Collectibles Masters of the Universe 21.5" Overlord of Evil Skeletor Statue

Pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles

“By the powers of darkness, evil and fear!”

What a wonderful day for evil! Ready to face He-Man in our new statue collection inspired by the popular 80’s cartoon series Masters of the Universe, Sideshow Collectibles is proud to present the Overlord of Evil himself – Skeletor!

Hailing from the otherworldly dimension of Infinitia, Skeletor rules over the darkest corners of Eternia with an iron fist from his treacherous volcanic base on Snake Mountain. Wielding his enchanted Havoc Staff to command an invisible horde of henchmen and minions, Sideshow’s artists have brought the sinister villain to life with ornately sculpted battle armor and a removable cape. For an extra dose of pure unadulterated nostalgia, collectors can choose to display the devious evildoer with a swap-out yellow skull head sculpt, a tribute to his classic animated appearance. Suitably depicted with his mouth wide open, you can almost hear the barrage of insults spew forth, or that unforgettable piercing cry. Locked in a never-ending battle against the forces of good, Skeletor will not rest until he possesses the secrets of Castle Grayskull – and if he succeeds, the sworn enemy of He-Man will conquer not only Eternia but take his place as master of the universe!

Pre-order ThreeZero 16-inch Getter Robot: Getter 1 Collectible Super Robot Figure

Getter Robo is a Super Robot manga series created by Ken Ishikawa, as well as an anime series produced by Toei Animation. The series was broadcast on Fuji TV from April 4, 1974 to May 8, 1975, with a total of 51 episodes. The plot involves three strong-willed teenagers: martial artist Ryoma Nagare, homicidal psychopath Hayato Jin and fat Judoka Musashi Tomoe, who pilot three specially designed combat jets (Eagle, Jaguar, and Bear) which can be combined together into three different giant robots, Getter-1 (balanced and for flight combat), Getter-2 (fast and for ground combat), and Getter-3 (strong and for marine combat).

The series was groundbreaking in the anime mecha genre: for the very first time, it introduced the concept of separate machines combining to form a Super Robot. Using three jets, Getter Robo could combine in three different ways to create three different versions of Getter Robo for different conditions and situations. This idea of combination and transformation proved to be a very powerful concept that has been used in the super robot genre ever since. Also, by adding three pilots to the robot was able to add an element of teen drama, probably influenced by the already popular anime sci-fi team show Gatchaman (better known in the U.S. as Battle of the Planets, G-Force: Guardians of Space or Eagle Riders).

It’s time to reveal the ThreeZero Getter Robot – Getter 1 collectible, which they have been working for a while now! Pre-order will open for the approximately 16” (40.64cm) tall and fully poseable Getter Robot – Getter 1 collectible on September 11th 9:00AM Hong Kong time at www.threezerostore.com

Pre-order Prime 1 Studio "Transformers: Age of Extinction" 23.5-inch tall Drift Polystone Statue

Pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles

At last. There is hope, after all.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is a 2014 3D science fiction action film based on the Transformers franchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action Transformers film series and stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead role, with Peter Cullen reprising his role as Optimus Prime. It is both a sequel to 2011’s Dark of the Moon and a soft reboot of the franchise, and takes place five years later, after the Decepticon invasion of Chicago.

Drift is one of five remaining Autobots hiding in the United States. He transforms into a blue and black Bugatti Veyron and his robot mode resembles that of a samurai warrior. He often says haikus in his dialogue and is at odds with Bumblebee, who was acting leader in Optimus Prime’s absence, because he believes that Bumblebee is not a worthy leader, although they work very well in battle.

GSC’s Nendoroid Elsa from Frozen opens for pre-order

Alright, Frozen fans, Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid Elsa is finally open for pre-order. We also now know all the details for this figure and the price. All our questions have been answered!

So, let’s get to it. Elsa will come with a big blue stand, three interchangeable faces, a snowflake and Olaf. I’m a little disappointed because I love when my figure comes with a lot of accessories. It just makes it more fun, so it would have been cool if Elsa came with more.

Nendoroid Elsa will be released in May, and like I stated earlier, pre-orders are open now for ¥3,889.

Alter’s Heidemarie W. Schnaufer is up for pre-order

I don’t know if you’d call Strike Witches character designs creative. On one hand, they are a bizarre mix of moe girls, WWII-era airplanes, animal ears, and authentic weaponry. On the other hand, basically all the character designs are the same.

The difference with Heidemarie is that her animal bits aren’t based on felines or canines, but on a bird. And maybe it’s just me but her enormous weapon seems extra-enormous (I believe she’s sporting the Mauser MG 151, which is normally mounted on aircraft).

You can pre-order Heidemarie now for ¥13,800, and she’s due for a March 2015 release… but we’ll see if that happens.

First 4 Figures puts Beat from Jet Set Radio up for pre-order

First 4 Figures has pulled another memory of my childhood from out of its magical hat! Beat from Jet Set Radio is the newest figure to reach their collection, and is up for pre-order through their website shop. Beat obviously is shown grinding on a beam with his skates, but one of my favorite parts is that the sparks from the grind actually light up and flicker with the LEDs used inside.

It’s in 1/6 scale, and measures in at 14 inches tall from the base to his head. It comes in deluxe full color packaging, has a hand numbered base, and includes an Authenticity Card which allows you to purchase the same number of the model next in the SEGA All-Stars series, should you be interested. Beat will set you back US$229.99, and requires a US$15 initial payment, but it doesn’t come out until Quarter 2 of 2015, so you have a bit of time to save. However, he is limited to only 1,250 pieces, so get the beat going fast, or you might miss out!

Pre-order ThreeA Marvel 1/6th scale Doctor Doom 13.5-inch figure (classic, ghost & stealth)

You can now pre-order this from Sideshow Collectibles

When ThreeA first announced they were making Marvel 12-inch figures designed by Ashley Wood and released 4 variants of The Invincible Iron Man earlier this year (see the post HERE), it was a case of either you liked it or you don’t, all of which depended on whether you liked 3A’s style. While the design was a nice and unique take on a character we are all very familiar with, one could tell that the figure itself was not very articulated from looking at the preview pictures as there were no extreme poses. Most of them just showed Iron Man standing there. It seems the legs have zero articulation.

Doctor Doom is going to be the second figure released under ThreeA’s Marvel license and it looks pretty good. He’s got the amazing weathering paint job on his armor (characteristics of ThreeZero / ThreeA), a pose-able cape, and also the huge feet that Iron Man was sporting.

Similar to what ThreeA did with the Iron Man figure, Doctor Doom is going to be available in 3 different variants. There’s classic version, the ghost edition, or the all black stealth edition.

Scroll down to see the rest of the teaser pictures.
Click on them for bigger and better views.

With the release of these Doctor Doom images, let’s hope that ThreeA is able to speed up the release of their future Marvel sixth scale figures because it seems like we are only seeing 1 to 2 figures per year. Not a lot to hope for.
