Bandai has quietly started taking pre-orders on their upcoming Naruto Uzumaki figure from Naruto Shippuden. I say quietly because the figure hasn’t gotten much in the way of fanfare since it made a surprise debut at New York International Toy Fair 2014 back in February. After that, nothing. A few pictures here and there in the last couple weeks and then, bang, pre-orders.
And along with those pre-orders also comes solid information on just what we’re getting in this figure. For starters we’ve got the obvious inclusion of his Rasengan, as well as five left hands, six left hands, and two kunai. Then there’s the parts that I’m kinda scratching my head over. They list him as having three expressions, but there’s actually a total of of four: grinning, clenched teeth, open mouth, and neutral. Bandai also lists his headband as an accessory, but it doesn’t appear to be removable, I think it’s actually replacements for the loose ends that they’re talking about. They also list “accessory case parts” which I’m completely lost on unless his hip pouch is removable.
Other than that he’s looking just as good as he did back in February. I was kinda hoping for something Kyuubi related like red eyes and fangs for one of the expressions, but I have a feeling there’ll be plenty of time for that on future Naruto releases, assuming we get future Naruto releases. This release will hit in July for a pretty reasonable ¥4,000.
