Amanda Visell kicks off 2018 with a pair of galactic bounty hunter BFFs. She’s created hand-crafted wood versions of the notorious Boba Fett and the perhaps more under the radar IG-88. Turns out the unlikely pair have a mutual admiration for one another. So much so that they carry around…
Medicom Toy offers up the latest STAR WARS X A BATHING APE VCDs (Vinyl Collectible Dolls) – featuring BOBA FETT (in two versions!) and a SCOUT TROOPER!
Both VCD BOBA FETT(TM) ESB Ver. and VCD BOBA FETT(TM) ROJ Ver. (“Empire Strikes Back” and “Return Of the Jedi”, if you were wondering ;p) have a SRP of ￥9,500 each, as is the 164mm tall VCD SCOUT TROOPER.
This limited edition figure depicts the first costume ever produced for Boba Fett. The all-white armor reflects the character’s initial concept as a “super trooper” before he evolved into the bounty hunter he is today. This prototype design was unveiled on June 28, 1978 in a screen test shot and is being worn by the assistant film editor for The Empire Strikes Back. In the 20-minute screen test, the sound designer describes the myriad weapons and features on this armored uniform for George Lucas and the Star Wars crew. For the first time ever, we have created this special action figure to commemorate the birth of this favorite character from the Star Wars saga. Re-enact your favorite Star Wars adventures or create brand-new ones with this Vintage Collection BOBA FETT (Prototype Armor) figure! Your figure will be awesome in battle, but your collection will be all the cooler because this version of BOBA FETT wasn’t in the original movie! Satisfy your adventure craving and your collector’s eye with this unusual figure!

Walgreens is surprisingly getting yet another exclusive figure, this time in the form of a 6-inch Star Wars Black Series Prototype (white) Boba Fett.
While I’m still baffled by the fact that companies are giving Walgreens all of these exclusives (which includes a Marvel Legends Agent Venom and Funko’s Game of Thrones Legacy Collection Tyrion in his Hand of the King outfit), at least I’ve stopped thinking that these announcements are typos. Given that Boba Fett is the most sought-after figure in Hasbro’s Star Wars Black Series figures *and* the outfit is a simple repaint, it’s a logical exclusive.
The figure is based on the original concept for Boba Fett which would have made him a super trooper (ie, on the Imperial payroll) rather than the bounty hunter (ie, outside contractor) that we’ve come to know and love. The design has received a lot of attention in recent years, going from a design that most fans have never even heard of to something at least a few of them own between the 1/6-scale Sideshow Collectibles version of the character and Hasbro’s mail-order Vintage series one.
Boba Fett, a fearsome, intergalactic bounty hunter, poses a threat to any member of the Rebel Alliance. Sand People, a tribe of desert nomads, survive by robbing innocent travelers like Luke. Snaggletooth is an alien creature seen by Luke and Ben lurking in the cantina.
