Alvin and Cheri Ong have been growing their little Furry Feline Family with incredible speed this past year, and there’s only more to come. In addition to their normal fare of adorable plush, they also had some Sweet Purridge resin figures with them that come in several different colors.
They also had a custom Munny on display to represent I Heart Poop Culture, which is always great. However, what I really want to get my hands on are the iPhone cases and the ModifyWatches. Who wouldn’t want to wear Furry Feline Creatives cuteness with you no matter where you go? I can’t wait to see what announcements and wonderful surprises they have for us in the coming year!
As part of it’s NYCC plans, SubUrban Vinyl will offer their exclusive Suburban Reptile Kaiju Purridge plush from Furry Feline Creatives. Limited to 12 hand-sewn pieces (14” x 12”), the latest incarnation of Kaiju Purridge will be available at the SubUrban Vinyl booth [#208] as part of the large Tenacious…
San Diego Comic-Con’s designer toy section was a veritable gauntlet packed full of bodies and vendors but even with all the chaos, it wasn’t hard to spot Furry Feline Creatives‘ booth. Topped with a giant doll of their Chef Tako character, the area had many new items from the minds of Alvin and Cheri Ong. I will be honest, what I most excited about were their four con-exclusive Kawaii Kaiju Friends plushes. The pictures don’t do justice to these toys’ vivid colors. They were positively electric! And I wasn’t the only attendee enamored with them; they were practically flying off the shelves.
Beyond the plushes, Alvin and Cheri also sold their new line charm bracelets and watches, all bearing the likenesses of Purridge and her friends. They also debuted two new handbags (available for pre-order on their site here and here). The bags especially impressed me (I am a sucker for tons of pockets).

After quite a bit of teasing on their Facebook page, Alvin and Cheri Ong of Furry Feline Creatives have fully revealed their new plushes exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con. The series of four is entitled “Kawaii Kaiju Friends” and decks Furry Feline Creatives’ Purridge, Ringo, and Dude in costumes themed to those old-school Japanese monster figures.
Kitty Purridge is now “Kawaii Kaiju Purridge” (US$60 each) and can be found in either a tangerine or lightning blue-colored Cyclops-style monster suit. Dude the turtle grows some spiky bits as “Go-Go Supaiku Dude” (US$50). And finally, Ringo the cat transforms into the heroic “Ultra Mega Ringo” (US$50). I presume his battles are going to be more of the pillow fight variety, though. He just looks so squishy! Each of these plushes will be limited to 10 pieces. Given that each plush is handmade, I would make a stop at this booth early if one of these guys is on your shopping list.
San Diego Comic-Con attendees will have a chance to purchase these cuties as well as meet the artists at booth 5149 (right next to Tokidoki). I highly recommend checking them out. Besides being genuinely enthusiastic about their toys and toy culture, Alvin and Cheri always put tons of effort into making their booth look super-cool. Seriously, it’ll be hard to miss, visually speaking.
Earlier this month, Alvin and Cheri Ong of Furry Feline Creativesteased fans with a short video hinting at their exclusive plushes which will be available for purchase at this week’s WonderCon in Anaheim, California. The four plushes featured in their con-exclusive “Walking like Dead” line include the two cats, Purridge and Ringo, along with Chef Tako the octopus and Piga the pig. The teaser video portrayed the characters as drooling, dirty and disheveled but viewers, at the time, were not given the whole story nor a good look at the plushes.
However, the time has come to reveal those secrets. I would sum up these backstories for you but I couldn’t do a better job then the provided press release:
Purridge needs her coffee fix…RIGHT NOW. There’s a lot of work to be done. Must work… Must finish work.
Chef Tako was so busy preparing at the kitchen, he got thirsty and mistakenly took the red bottle instead of the bottled water.
Ringo has been playing video games, all day, all night, non stop.
Piga was very tired, slept with a mudpack on and totally forgot to remove it the next day.
The Purridge, Chef Tako, and Ringo plushes come with removable accessories (a plush coffee cup, plush red hot sauce bottle, and plush controller, respectively). Each of the characters will be limited to eight pieces, costing US$50. All of these plushes measure 12 inches-tall and are handmade by Cheri. They are made of fleece and felt and feature signed and numbered hangtags. Attendees can purchase them over at Furry Feline Creative’s booth #1161 at WonderCon.
This coming WonderCon, Alvin and Cheri Ong of Furry Feline Creatives will place four of their cuddly critters into gritty scenarios for our amusement. All told, staying up all night playing video games or oversleeping with a mudpack on isn’t exactly on par with a zombie infestation but that is the premise for their con-exclusive “Walking like Dead” line. In the teaser video, we can spot familiar faces like the cats, Purridge and Ringo along with their buddies, Piga the pig and Chef Tako the octopus but they don’t quite look their happy, sunny selves. Something’s off. One has eye bags. Another is drooling. And well, poor Piga seems to be stuck with that mudpack. Maybe a hug will make them feel better?
WonderCon attendees will be able to rescue these plushes at Furry Feline Creatives’ booth #1161. Prices and edition sizes haven’t been revealed yet. But expect these to be very limited edition. Each one is handmade by Cheri Ong.
DesignerCon is next weekend (you do have your tickets, don’t you?) and we have another con-exclusive to share with you, this time from Alvin and Cheri of Furry Feline Creatives. The couple will be bringing with them a very special limited edition stuffed turtle named Paratrooper Dude. This handmade plush features a camouflage “parachute” shell that detaches with the release of the buckle in front. How clever!
This not-so little guy (he stands 12 inches tall) is ready to dive into action with a daredevil smile. His brigade consists of 15 pieces, costing US$60 each. Every Paratrooper Dude comes equipped with a signed and numbered tag. They can be found at Furry Feline Creatives’ DesignerCon booth (#617).
