Art of Fighting 2 available now on Nintendo Switch

Hamster continue their noble quest to pump out classic Neo Geo titles on modern platforms. This week sees tough-as-nails Neo Geo sequel Art of Fighting 2 re-released on Nintendo Switch.

AoF2, originally released by SNK in 1994, was the fairly ineffective sequel to 1992’s Art of Fighting – naturally. Although it featured some new roster additions (including the playable debut of Yuri Sakazaki) and is a little less clunky than its predecessor, it still couldn’t turn heads in a year that also saw the release of Super Street Fighter II Turbo, whilst Mortal Kombat II also continued to ride a wave of phenomenal success.

Not helping AoF2 was its infamously brutal A.I difficulty, which saw many players drop in 20p, get rekt in the first match, and just go back to other games. In its favour, AoF2 does feature some awesome, huge sprites and nicely detailed stages. It also has a varied, 12 character roster and even a hidden final boss in the form of Fatal Fury’s Geese Howard, who apparently loves crossovers.

Art of Fighting 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, priced at $8.

PAK FFVII:AC Red XIII actually available for pre-order

Square-Enix’s much asked about Play Arts Kai Red XIII (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children) is finally up for pre-order… along with three other FVII:AC characters who aren’t talking wolf-lions.

PAK Red XIII was shown last June (by which I mean June of 2013) then proceeded to go AWOL, sometimes even missing conventions. While it’s possible that Square Enix may have taken that time to retool him, it’s also possible that it was an elaborate ruse to antagonize fans. Either way, he’s actually coming out now and we didn’t even have to wait figma Archer or S.H. Figuarts Master Asia time.

As mentioned before, Red XIII looks even cooler in PAK form (too bad he’s far more expensive in PAK form). If that wasn’t enough (and, for that price tag, it might not be), the figure also includes movable eyes. It’s a feature I didn’t even know I wanted!

SE’s PAK Red XIII can be pre-ordered for around ¥9,800 and is slated for a December release. You know, the perfect season for the colors Red XIII and… umm… Green Ranger.

DST’s bloody cool Bleeding Edge Iron Man available for order

Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel.com and Disney-exclusive Marvel Select Iron Man is currently available for order through and will be available through Marvel.com the Disney Store later this month.

The 7-inch tall figure is billed as having 16 points of articulation and apparently sports an incredibly shiny paint job. He comes with a large display base depicting what appears to be a severed plane wing. By placing Bleeding Edge Iron Man at the top of the plume of smoke, it looks like the figure has punched his way through the wing.

Apparently debuting in Invincible Iron Man #25, the Mark 38 armor consists of millions of nano-machines stored inside Tony Stark’s body, which exit through the pores of his skin using repulsor technology to form a protective layer over his entire body. As such, when Tony’s not wearing the suit the suit apparently wears him.

DST’s Marvel Select Bleeding Edge Iron Man can be ordered for US$25. Be sure to check out the photo gallery for additional images.
