Jakks to produce articulated 4-in Wario

We’ve received word from Jakks Pacific that they will be producing a 4-inch articulated Wario along with their other 4-inch and 6-inch Nintendo offerings. Subsequently, we stumbled on a blurry image of said 4-inch Wario in packaging (see gallery) and it appears that Wario will be quite a bit larger than the other figures in the 4-inch line.

Additionally, kenmasters226 over on the Fwoosh forums posted a comparison shot of the Jakks Mario next to Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts Mario (reviewed) which show that the two are remarkably close in proportions (see gallery) although the difference in articulation is visible. It seems like a decent enough stand-in for the pricier SHF Mario if you want to save roughly fifteen bucks (or if you didn’t like the Bandai one’s face).

The line has been sighted at both Toys “R” Us and Target now, with the 4-inch figures apparently retailing for US$9 at Target.

Jakks Pacific to produce articulated Nintendo figures, including Bowser

Jakks Pacific apparently has plans to product Nintendo action figures, taking characters from such properties as Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong. The news was apparently discovered via an Australian retailer who opened pre-orders for the figures.

Gaming fans may recall hearing that Jakks was producing a slew of miniature Super Mario collectibles in its Micro Land line (currently available at select retailers, including Toys “R” Us). The company apparently decided to grow its offerings — literally and figuratively — with larger, articulated versions of the characters which now also pulls in some friends from other games. The initial offerings are apparently a 4-inch tall Mario, Yoshi, and Link along with a 6-inch Bowser, and Donkey Kong (to give the figure some scale).

The figures, which are listed as being due out this September, aren’t on par in terms of quality with imported lines but have the benefit of featuring some of characters we haven’t seen from the likes of Bandai or Good Smile Company. As such, the Bowser could make a good stand-in while we wait for other companies to catch up. Otherwise it’s always nice to have cheaper alternatives.

Pre-Order ThreeZero 20" Titanfall Atlas with fully articulated 6-inch IMC Battle Rifle Pilot figure

Titanfall is a 2014 multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. In Titanfall, players control “pilots” and their mech-style Titans, and fight in six-on-six matches set in war-torn outer space colonies. Titanfall is a shooter game played from a first-person perspective. Players fight as free-running foot soldier “pilots” who can command agile, mech-style exoskeletons — “Titans” — to complete team-based objectives. The game is set on derelict and war-torn colonies at the Frontier fringe of space exploration as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia.

The Atlas is the original Titan model produced by Hammond Robotics. It has a balance of mobility and armor, having more mobility than the Ogre, but more armor than the Stryder. This was the first Titan to be revealed. Based on photos of the titan standing next to a pilot it can be estimated to be between 20-25 feet tall. Its main entry point is in its chest, which opens up for the player. The Atlas also has a secondary entry point in a small hatch in the top. This is also the eject port for the Atlas.

ThreeZero has released a huge gallery and info for their upcoming Titanfall Atlas with 6-inch tall Pilot. Check out Kaiyodo Revoltech highly articulated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been around for ages. Well, since 1984 when Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird self-published a single-issue comic intended to parody four of the most popular comics of the early 1980s: Marvel Comics’ Daredevil and New Mutants, Dave Sim’s Cerebus, and Frank Miller’s Ronin. Accompanied by the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987 TV series, and the subsequent action figure line, the TMNT were catapulted into pop culture history.

I’ve covered a little bit on the Playmates 2012 6-inch tall Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection Figures in my toy blog posts HERE and HERE already plus a post of the newer action figures from the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series which premiered on September 29, 2012. Check out the pictures HERE

With the potential blockbuster / disaster that is Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming out this year, everyone wants to get in on the action with the TMNT. Set to be released in Japan later this year, these are the Kaiyodo Revoltech TMNT action figures!

Kaiyodo showed off all four of their Revoltech Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TMNT figures as part of the celebration at the Japanese release party of the Nickelodeon TMNT cartoon series! And they look pretty awesome!

Scroll down to see pictures of each of the Ninja Turtles – Leonardo (Leo), Michelangelo (Mike or Mikey), Donatello (Don or Donnie) and Raphael (Raph). Click on them for bigger and better views.

The articulation on these Kaiyodo Revoltech Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures looks to be pretty impressive, with ankle rockers, a ball-jointed head and neck, ball-hinge wrists and even ball-jointed fingers!
Each of the Revoltech Ninja Turtles action figures will also come with a very cool stylized head. Kaiyodo Revoltech Leonardo will come packed with a large-eyed “shocked” head.
Kaiyodo Revoltech TMNT Donatello will include a drooling head
The Revoltech Raphael angry face head with bugged out eyes is hilarious 🙂

Meanwhile, Playmates Toys, the creative force behind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line over the last three decades, is set to introduce a new product line inspired by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ summer blockbuster film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, directed by Jonathan Liebesman, written by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec and Evan Daugherty and produced by Michael Bay, hitting theaters August 8. I don’t think I want anything to do with these figures. See for yourself (picture below)

Under the Radar: Catch this articulated 1/6 Mal Reynolds before he goes to the special hell

Firefly may have been canned 11 years ago (holy cow that makes me feel old) but its fandom has stayed true. In fact I think some portion of them are keeping Castle on the air, but I digress…

Quantum Mechanix is at least partially about catering to Firefly fans, so they announced yet another great-looking Mal Reynolds figure. Word came out last week that an articulated, 1/6-scale Mal Reynolds figure will be the first in a new line of such collectibles. It was unveiled at Dallas Comic Con over the weekend. Click through for more details and my impressions!

The Articulated Fingers of EDO TK from 3A Toys

Deboxed my 1/6 EDO TK from 3A Toys and messed around with it’s articulated fingers, and the result is uploaded on THIS Facebook album … the fingers constantly pop-out of their sockets tho, but they are easily popped back in for further play, no worries 🙂

Further deboxing review pics to come slightly later … meanwhile, permit me to indulge in my toys a bit further this Sunday morning ;p
